AceGamez has reviewed Heroes of Annihilated Empires, giving the game a 9 out of 10 overall and saying:
"There are some small design flaws and there isn't any huge innovation in the RTS or RPG genres, but in the end Heroes of Annihilated Empires is a fine hybrid title that tells a captivating tale, complemented by a stellar cinematic presentation and gameplay that is challenging and rewarding, not to mention compulsively addictive in an old school dungeon-crawler kind of way. If the first game is this compelling, I can't wait to get my hands on the next chapter!"

Grę polecam, każdemu, kto lubi klasyczną tematykę fantasy. Jest tu wszystko, co dobra opowieść z tego gatunku potrzebuje: wyraziści bohaterowie i monumentalne bitwy, magia i miecz, no i oczywiście odwieczna walka dobra ze złem, której wynik zależy tylko od działań gracza...

... As it is, it's the nearest thing to a modern Warcraft, is actually fun and hence is deserving of rare praise ...

Gamespot posted their impressions after playing Heroes of Annihilated Empires at this year's Tokyo Game Show and cupped it all with a new HoAE gameplay movie.
"...The hero has a number of spells initially available to him, including an ice ball that damages all enemies in front of him; the Eye of Storm, which calls up a ball of lightning that zaps nearby enemies every few seconds; and the humorously titled Call of Nature, which summons in a group of dryads to fight on your side..."
